She served as chief financial officer and as an executive director of AngloGold Ashanti for eight years until June 2022, including a year as interim chief executive officer. Prior to that Christine was chief financial officer of Sasol and chief executive officer of Johnnic Holdings. Christine previously served as a member of the Presidential State-Owned Enterprises Council, and her past directorships include MTN Group, Lafarge SA, Johnnic Communications, Transnet, The World Gold Council, Rand Refinery, the International Council on Mining and Metals, and the International Federation of Accountants.
